Gratulasjonsbrev fra statsminister Jonas Gahr Støre til USAs nyvalgte president Donald J. Trump.
Dear President-elect Donald J. Trump,
On behalf of the Norwegian Government, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to you and Vice President-elect James David Vance on your election victory.
Norway looks forward to cooperating with you and your administration on a wide range of shared priorities, many of which require joint international efforts, a strong transatlantic alliance, and the indispensable leadership of the United States.
Our partnership is based on joint interests and shared history. Our extensive trade and investment relations support several hundred thousand jobs, on both sides of the Atlantic. Being one of the largest suppliers of critical minerals to the U.S., with the largest-proven deposit of rare earth elements in Europe, Norway is committed to deliver sustainable and secure supply chains for advanced US manufacturing.
We are committed to transatlantic solidarity, burden sharing, and to maintain NATO as a guarantor of allied security and deterrence. In the Arctic, the cooperation between the U.S. and Norway on security, defence and intelligence is of high value to both our countries and our allies. With Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, the unity and strength of the transatlantic alliance is our most important competitive advantage.
Norway will continue to be a trusted partner and ally of the United States in these efforts and more. I look forward to continue our close cooperation, based on the solid foundation established during your first administration.
I wish you every success in the important tasks that lie ahead.
Jonas Gahr Støre
