Norway has entered into a bilateral agreement on science and technology with the United States. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Education and Research, Mr. Oeystein Djupedal, in Washington D.C. on December 9 2005.

Kunnskapsdepartementet nedsatte i mai 2010 et ekspertutvalg som skulle vurdere ulike verktøy for kartlegging av barns språk i barnehagen. Utvalget har nå gjennomført sitt arbeid og skal levere sin rapport til kunnskapsminister Kristin Halvorsen.
