The Secretary General is the highest-ranking civil servant within the ministry. The Secretary General is responsible for supporting and advising the Minister of Defence in the leadership and coordination of the ministry’s activities. As the Minister’s closest collaborator and advisor, the Secretary General provides counsel on both professional/political matters as well as a wide range of daily operational issues.
