The Longship Project is Ready for Operation

Norway’s largest climate initiative and Europe’s first complete value chain for carbon management, Longship, is now ready for operation. This milestone will be marked with events in Oslo and Brevik on 17 and 18 June 2025.

The Longship project represents a major pioneering effort in climate technology. On Tuesday 17 June, an international high-level conference on carbon management will take place at the Oslo Opera House.

On Wednesday 18 June, the world’s first carbon capture facility in the cement industry will be inaugurated with a formal ceremony at Heidelberg Materials’ cement plant in Brevik. Crown Prince Haakon will attend both days.
